The Uganda Cranes team arrived home safely from Rwanda where they won their first match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers .

Uganda beat neighbors Rwanda 1:0 courtesy of a 41st minute Fahad Bayo goal to revive some hopes of qualification for the first ever World Cup tournament.

Uganda who were playing their third match of second qualification round currently stand second in group E with five points from three matches having drawn goalless in the first two matches against Kenya and Mali.

With three matches left to play for in the group, Uganda trail leaders Mali by two point with only group leaders advancing to the third round of qualification.

The ten group winners will advance to the third round and will be drawn into pairs who will face each other on a two leg basis with the five winners of their ties qualifying for world Cup.

Uganda play their next match against Rwanda on Sunday 10th at home in Kampala at Vipers St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
