Express FC have beaten Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi 1:0 to win their first CECAFA Kagame Club Championship after two failed attempts.
Martin Kiiza slotted home for the Red Eagles in the 22nd minute off a well laid pass by Eric Kambale.
Express FC lost their last two finals against Al Merrikh of Sudan and Tanzania's Simba SC in the years 1994 and 1995 respectively.
Express FC adds the silver ware to the already Uganda Premier League championship attained in the recently concluded 2020/2021 season.
Express FC still have the chance to win a third silver ware this season as they already made it to the semi finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
They will play BUL FC in a semi slated to take place between 19th - 31st August 2021 where home and away ties will be played.
The winner of the tie will play in the finals with the winner of the tie between Police and Vipers SC who play at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
In the third place play offs, Zanzibar's KMKM beat Tanzania's Azam FC 1:0 to finish third.
