Defending Champions Proline FC have beaten Mbale Heroes 1:0 to advance to the Quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 with a 3:1 aggregate score.

The side which won the tournament last season against Bright Stars was reduced to ten men when When Kugonza Norman was given matching orders following a second booking.

However, despite the red card, Proline remained resilient and maintained their 1:0 lead given to them by Sendi Ibrahim to make it to the Quarter finals with hopes of defending the title.

Proline FC beat Bright Stars F.C 5:4 in post match penalties last year to win their first title, after normal time ended in a one stalemate.

The 2nd leg played on this Thursday 6th May at the Municipal Stadium came with a 2:1 goal advantage, thanks to goals from Noordin Bunjo and Savio Kabugo who gave the Yellow and Purple stripped side the lead from the 1st leg.

Proline FC joins Express FC (conquerors of URA FC), SC Villa (conquerors of Onduparaka), KCCA (Conquerors of Luzira FC) Wakiso Giants (conquerors of Tooro United), Vipers SC (conquerors of UPDF), Police FC (conquerors of Bright Stars) and BUL FC the conquerors of Kigezi Home Boys.

Proline FC is the only Big League side in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter finals, the winner this season will take home UGX 50M.
