Despite the on going disaster of COVID-19 pandemic, the Organizing committee of Masaza Cup confirmed this year's tournament will kick off today Saturday 12th December, 2020 at FUFA Technical Center Njeru under strict SOPs.

His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will as usual grace the opening of the tournament that will see defending champions Bulemeezi square off with Butambala at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

Bulemeezi are the defending champions having beaten Busiro 1:0, thanks to a strike from South Sudan's Loki Emmanuel at a muddy Namboole stadium last year.

On a saddening note, all of the five teams in Butikro group had some positive COVID-19 tests which will necessitate replacement for the players and officials that tested positive.

All teams' players, officials media and the necessary staff at the tournament went under tests and Standard Operating Procedures will be followed in the due course of the tournament.

Regular hand washing, physical social distancing, sanitizing, constant temperature testing and wearing of face masks at all times have been emphasized
