Uganda Cranes' midfield maestro Farouq Miya was influential in a 2:0 win by his side Konyaspor against home side Fenerbahce.

Despite not scoring in the day's match, the former Anderlecht player played all the ninety minutes as Marko Jevtovic and Artem Kravets scored for the İsmail Kartal coached side.

The victory at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium home to Fernabache ended a three year period when Miya's side didn't win against today's losers.

The loss to Fernabache also home to Tanzania's super star Mbwana Ali Samata was just the second for Miya's side Konyaspor away to the club-one of the most successful in Turkey, since 2004.

For starters, Miya Farouq scored the only goal as Uganda beat Comoros 1:0 in 2016 to take the Cranes back to Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON-2017) for the first time in 39 years.
