Mindful Creativity with Buka Chimey event is kicking off today at Motiv Bugolobi, with a powerful lineup of artists and experts committed to raising mental health awareness in Uganda’s creative sector including Jackie Chandiru. Themed “Nurturing Mental Health in the Creative Arts,” the show will spotlight the unique mental health challenges faced by artists and creative professionals, bringing together insights from some of Uganda’s most notable figures in the arts.
Buka Chimey, the event’s founder and a passionate advocate for mental health, will be leading discussions and performing.
Known for his honest lyrics and impactful presence in the industry, he will share how mental health influences creativity and discuss ways the community can work together for greater support.
Joining him on stage is Jackie Chandiru, a Ugandan music icon who has been open about her own struggles and triumphs with mental health. Jackie’s powerful vocals and relatable journey promise an inspiring performance as she delivers a message of resilience and healing.
