The Speaker of Uganda's Parliament and Bukedea District Woman MP, Anita Among, has directed the transfer of two traffic officers, Abdallah Tusiime and Charles Makawa, to the Parliamentary Police Directorate in recognition of their exemplary service on Kampala’s streets.

Officer Abdallah Tusiime was recently honored by the Uganda Police for his dedication, receiving several privileges, including a bursary for his son.

In a social media post, Among praised Tusiime, stating, "I want to applaud Police Officer Abdallah Tusiime for his exceptional commitment, character, and dedication over the years. We salute his service to the nation."

She also commended Officer Charles Makawa for his calm and mature response when he was allegedly assaulted while on duty, highlighting their conduct as a model for public service.

During today’s parliamentary session, Among acknowledged their efforts and proposed that both officers be transferred to the Parliamentary Police as a gesture of appreciation.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been informed to ensure the Speaker’s directive is fulfilled.
