Singer-turned-politician Catherine Kusasira is set to contest for the Buikwe Woman Member of Parliament seat in the upcoming 2026 general elections after years of going back to school for more academic documents.

Kusasira's political journey began in 2019 when she was appointed as a presidential advisor on Kampala Affairs. Embracing her new role with gusto, she has since become a dynamic force within the National Resistance Movement (NRM), actively engaging with young recruits in Kampala's slum areas.

With her eyes set on a higher political office, Kusasira is preparing to make waves in Buikwe. She has already unveiled her campaign posters, boldly carrying the theme "Service Delivery for All," signaling her commitment to the people of Buikwe.

As the election season approaches, Kusasira's bid for the district's Woman MP position promises to be a thrilling political showdown.

Her journey from music to politics continues to inspire many, and all eyes will be on Buikwe as she campaigns under the NRM banner, aiming to bring her message of inclusive service to a broader audience.
