“People Think I’m Uneducated But I Even Finished University, Flew Out of the Country in S.2”- Suuna Ben

For the past few years Suuna Ben has been on top of the Deejaying game in Uganda, many people have always linked his uniqueness to being local and uneducated, now he has told his story including how he finished University and even had his first flight to Canada when he was in Senior Two.

All this was revealed during a sit down music interview with Local YouTuber, Gossip Live, where Suuna Ben opened up about his life story from childhood to the star he is today.

During this interview, Suuna opened up and revealed that he hails from Kimanya, Masaka, and was born to John Kayondo and Proscovia Namata.

He revealed that the Love of his life is his mother who sacrificed everything in her life to make sure he had a good life.

Ben is the second-born in a family of six siblings. His early education journey took him through various schools after the death of his Father when he was just in his P.3, he studied upto P7 with the little help he could get from his mother.

Suuna went to different schools including;

•  Kimanya Nursery School
• Kimanya Primary School
• Kijabwene Primary School
• Exodus Vocational Secondary School
• Stella Maris S.S.S.

His involvement with a dance troupe called Drumbeat, as well as his participation in karaoke and working in a hotel, further honed his skills and broadened his experiences in the entertainment industry.

It was during his karaoke days that he met someone who introduced him to the world of radio.

His first job in the industry was with Radio Equator, which was followed by a stint at Buddu FM, where he unfortunately did not receive any payment for his work. Despite this setback, Ben's determination led him to join Bukedde FM and TV.
