Dancehall sensation Crescent Baguma, famously known as Beenie Gunter, has reportedly been arrested and detained in Abu Dhabi following a bitter fight that took place at a show he was scheduled to perform at.
According to Blizz Uganda sources, the Tubayo sinhger who had been enjoying the glitz and glamour of the UAE for a couple of weeks, got entangled in a scuffle with event promoters in Abu Dhabi on Monday, January 8th, 2024.
Sources close to the Beenie Gunter camp spilled the beans, confirming the artist's arrest at Dubai airport, where he was promptly whisked away to Abu Dhabi for an unexpected extended stay.
The singer had jetted off to the Middle East with the mother of his son, Nickie Berry, for two much-anticipated performances—one at the trendy V-Club in Dubai and the other in the bustling city of Abu Dhabi.
Trouble brewed after the Dubai gig when two promoters clashed over undisclosed matters, transforming the entertainment scene into a real-life action movie. Always one to spread the peace, Beenie Gunter, in an attempt to mediate, ended up taking the brunt of the brawl and suffered a bit of a beating.
Authorities were quick to intervene as the chaos spilled over, with reports suggesting that property at the bar where the skirmish went down ended up seeing some unexpected redecoration.
