Buganda Kingdom's Princess Katrina Ssangalyambogo found herself in the limelight after a video clip of her speaking impeccable British English during the launch of Ekisaakaate 2024 went viral. The incident, however, didn't go unnoticed by a section of Ugandans who her for not opting for Luganda, the local language, given the event's focus on promoting cultural traditions.

Nevertheless, the buzz surrounding Princess Ssangalyambogo's linguistic didn't overshadow the grand launch of Queen Sylvia Nagginda's mentorship program, Ekisaakaate, held at Hormisdallen Primary School in Gayaza.

The two-week program, slated to conclude on January 20, has drawn enthusiastic participation from parents eager to instill moral values, leadership skills, domestic duties, and practical know-how in their children and youth.

Parents flocked to the Buganda Kingdom headquarters in Bulange, Mengo, with their children in tow, ready to embark on this transformative journey. Under the watchful eyes of experienced mentors, affectionately known as Bagunjuzi, more than 200 children went through a seamless registration process.

Thursday's event marked a pivotal moment as buses lined up at Bulange, poised to transport the eager participants to Hormisdallen, where the vibrant Ekisaakaate 2024 promises a blend of tradition and contemporary learning.

Queen Sylvia Nagginda's mentorship initiative continues to make significant strides, inspiring the youth to embrace valuable life skills with a touch of Buganda's rich cultural heritage.
