When he was still alive, Paul Kato Lubwama always bragged about how much he believed in and practised traditional healings and now in his death, it is being reported that the Roman Catholic Church has refused to hold a requim mass for his body because of the same reasons.
According to reports making rounds, Kato Lubwama’s lifeless body was taken to his maternal home in Mutundwe, where mourners were waiting to pay their last respects before taking him to church for his final prayers.
Now it is said that the catholic church has cancelled the prayers citing he didn’t believe in God.
However, Kato Lubwama's body will subsequently be transported to National Theatre for the principal memorial service, after which it will be transported to Nkozi on Tuesday and interred on Wednesday.
Some people have said that the church, in its right, would treat Kato Lubwama as a heretic who openly denounced it. However, on humanitarian grounds, the same church can offer special prayers and petitions for the repose of his soul & comfort of the bereaved family.
