The journey to crown Uganda’s next beauty queen has officially kicked off! The Miss Uganda 2025 pageant was launched yesterday, May 5th at Kampala Sheraton Hotel. This year’s edition brings together a group of stunning, smart, and purpose-driven young women from all six regions of Uganda.

These women will each battle it out for the coveted crown and the chance to represent the Pearl of Africa on the global stage.

But it’s not just about looks — the competition promises intellect, and passion. In a move to reach fans across the country, the entire Miss Uganda journey will be televised for the first time, turning every moment of glam, drama, and inspiration into national entertainment.

The show will air exclusively on Makula KiKa via the StarTimes platform every Friday to Sunday at 8:00PM (EAT) starting June 27th, 2025.

“We’re excited to launch yet another chapter in the Miss Uganda legacy,” said Brenda Nanyonjo, the pageant director. “This year is about celebrating the diversity, strength, and potential of Ugandan women. Miss Uganda continues to be a platform that opens doors in education, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.”

StarTimes, now in their second year as official broadcast partners, say the pageant has brought in new viewers and sponsors alike. “We’re proud to be associated with a brand that truly showcases Ugandan beauty,” said the StarTimes Vice President, Marketing.

A big shoutout to this year’s sponsors: U-home, Xiaomi, Entiko Safari Lodge, Sino Mbale Industrial Park, V&A, and Tianao Furniture Manufacturing Ltd, the lead sponsor. Their support, as StarTimes Business Development Director Klaire Komakech emphasized, helps uplift women, celebrate culture, and drive community development.

During the launch, it was revealed that reigning Miss Uganda Natasha Nyonyozi will be jetting off to India on May 7th to represent Uganda at the Miss World competition. Fans will remember that former Miss Uganda Hanah Karema made Uganda proud when she finished 8th globally and was runner-up in Africa.
