Roast and Rhyme Back in the City this June with a New Venue, Hockey Grounds Lugogo

Kampala’s favorite picnic party is back, but this time with a city twist! Roast and Rhyme is officially happening on Sunday, June 1st in the heart of the city at The Hockey Grounds, Lugogo.

Yup, no more road trips all the way to Munyonyo. It’ll be in Lugogo, right above the Cricket Oval and next to MTN Arena. You’ll enter through the National Council of Sports gate on Coronation Avenue.

Now, if you were hoping to bring your grill like old times, sorry boss — it won’t work here. The grounds don’t allow personal grills this time. But don’t stress. Swangz Avenue has already set up vendors with all the roast you can think of — juicy meat, chicken, pork, name it — it’s all there, ready for your teeth.

And when it comes to music? The lineup is still mad. If you were hyped before the postponement, no need to worry — everyone is still coming:

  • Winnie Nwagi

  • Karole Kasita

  • Sama Soja

  • Fyno UG

  • Beenie Gunter

  • Black Wave Band

  • Double Black

Plus, Swangz is teasing surprise performances. So just know — the stage will be on fire.

If you already bought a ticket, don’t throw it away — it’s still valid. Even better, you’re getting a free extra ticket as a thank-you for your patience. Swangz will share how to redeem it soon.

And for those who haven’t gotten theirs yet, tickets are still available on FlexiPay app or by dialing *291#.

  • Ordinary – UGX 100,000

  • VVIP – UGX 200,000

Gates open at 11 AM, so pull up early, find your spot, and get comfortable. Whether you’re there to eat, dance, catch vibes, or all of the above — it’s going to be a full Sunday experience.

Oh, and about security — it’s tight. Swangz is working with security teams to make sure everyone is safe and free to enjoy without any drama.
