Ugandan author, entrepreneur, political analyst and medical practitioner Abel Mwenda is already shaking big tables with his upcoming book “The Museveni I Know” which was unveiled during CDF Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s birthday Run.
The book, which dives into the life and rise of President Yoweri Museveni, was unveiled at Kololo Independence Grounds and that’s where things got interesting.
Top figures in the country got an exclusive first look at the book, and the endorsements started flying in immediately.
Former MP aspirant Luzi Abraham didn’t hold back, praising Mwenda for boldly documenting the story of Uganda’s long-serving leader and pledging full support for the project.

Then came the big moment as the President’s brother Michael Nuwagira, aka Toyota, stepped in with serious backing.
Toyota thanked everyone who turned up and revealed plans to buy book copies worth millions and distribute them to Ugandans who might not afford them. Yes—millions.
Outspoken media personality Frank Gashumba also jumped in, hyping the book and urging Ugandans to read it. He even went a step further and invited Mwenda for a sit-down at his office to break it all down.
Former IGP Kale Kayihura tried to dig deeper, directly asking Mwenda why he chose to write about Museveni.
But Mwenda kept it cool and cryptic: “General, if you read the book, you will find out.” That answer alone has people talking.
Behind the scenes, Allan Kunya Yesero, who was in charge of organizing the event, thanked attendees and singled out Mwenda, calling him patriotic for choosing to positively tell the president’s story.
It looks like The Museveni I Know is not just another political book as it’s shaping up to be a layered narrative mixing history, satire, and insider perspective on one of Africa’s most powerful leaders.
The official launch is set for July this year,.
