Uganda’s street dance culture is set for a historic breakthrough after the globally recognized Red Bull Dance Your Style officially announced its debut in the country this May starting with auditions.

For the first time ever, Ugandan dancers will have the opportunity to compete on one of the world’s biggest freestyle street dance platforms, with qualifiers scheduled for May 29, 2026, at Somewhere Else Bar, formerly known as Panamera Bar.

The Uganda National Finals will then take place on May 30, 2026, at Vibe House starting at 4PM.

The competition is expected to bring together some of Uganda’s most talented street dancers in a high-energy showcase centered around creativity, rhythm, individuality, freestyle performance, and crowd interaction.

Unlike traditional dance battles judged by panels, Red Bull Dance Your Style uses a unique format where dancers perform head-to-head to surprise music selections while the audience decides who advances and eventually wins the competition.

Organizers say the format celebrates originality, confidence, self-expression, and crowd connection, creating an unpredictable and interactive experience for both dancers and fans.

Dancers interested in participating in the qualifiers have been encouraged to register early through Qualifier Registration – Red Bull Dance Your Style Uganda.

Fans and supporters can also secure tickets for the Uganda National Finals through National Finals Tickets – Red Bull Dance Your Style Uganda.

Since launching globally in 2018, Red Bull Dance Your Style has grown into a major international street dance movement spanning over 52 countries, with more than 127 events reportedly hosted in 2025 alone.

Uganda now joins countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, the United States, Japan, France, Germany, Brazil, South Korea, Australia, and Thailand among others participating in the globally celebrated dance competition.

The Uganda National Final is expected to further spotlight the country’s rapidly growing street dance culture while offering dancers exposure to an internationally recognized platform focused on urban creativity and youth culture.

Beyond the dance battles, organizers promise a full cultural experience bringing together dancers, creatives, music lovers, lifestyle enthusiasts, and youth audiences for a vibrant celebration of movement and entertainment.

The event is being coordinated alongside Talent Africa Group as Uganda’s entertainment and dance community prepares for what could become one of the country’s biggest urban culture events.
