A new biography has revealed allegations that Ugandan police officers pointed a gun at American reality TV star Kim Kardashian during her 2018 visit to Uganda with then-husband Kanye West.

The account appears in Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, an authorised biography by journalist Jonathan Van Meter, released on October 27, 2026.

Farnaz Farjam, an executive producer of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, told Van Meter that tensions involving West became apparent during the trip. She alleged that West became agitated at a remote filming location and convinced local police that members of his entourage were trying to drug him.

According to the account, armed officers searched rooms occupied by the group, and one officer allegedly pointed a gun at Kardashian’s head. Farjam said the incident was so intense that she hired a private jet to evacuate her production crew.

Kardashian and West visited Uganda in October 2018 with their daughter North. They stayed at Chobe Safari Lodge, visited President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe and travelled to a children’s village in Masulita.

The biography reportedly presents the Uganda incident as a turning point in their marriage. The couple separated in 2021 and finalised their divorce in 2022.

Van Meter did not interview West for the book, saying he considered it unethical because of the rapper’s mental health struggles. The allegations about the police encounter are attributed to Farjam’s account in the biography and have not been independently established in the material provided.
