Singer Hajjat Stecia Mayanja has broken her silence about the heartbreak she endured in her short-lived marriage to Abbas Mubiru, how she footed all the bills for their wedding.
Speaking emotionally in a recent interview, Stecia said she carried the full financial weight of their union, from the ceremonies to the celebrations.
“I met all the costs alone. It still hurts me when I think about it,” she confessed.
The couple’s romance began in January 2015 and took a fast turn. Within just three months, Abbas had proposed, and by March, they were married. But what seemed like a fairytale soon turned into a nightmare.
Stecia later discovered a devastating truth—Abbas was allegedly part of a group of men who prey on successful women, wooing them with affection only to exploit them financially.
“He wasn’t the man I thought he was,” she added. “It was all a game to him.”
The painful experience didn’t just end the marriage—it left a lasting emotional scar.
