Fort Portal was on fire over the weekend as the Ekyooto Ha Mpango Music Festival wrapped up the 30th Coronation Anniversary of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV at Karuzika Palace where thousands gathered.

Thousands flocked to the hilltop palace to celebrate culture, music, and community in a royal festival powered by Talent Africa Group, UTB, and Pilsner Lager. From cultural showcases to live performances and fireworks that lit up the Tooro sky at midnight.

UTB boss Juliana Kagwa called Empango more than just a ritual, describing it as “a powerful showcase of Uganda’s living heritage” and a golden chance to position cultural tourism on the global map. For Pilsner, it was all about celebrating “the true King’s beer” with unity, resilience, and of course, the now-famous 4-for-10k deal at the Pilsner Cultural Village.

Talent Africa Group CEO Aly Allibhai couldn’t hide his pride after pulling off the mega celebration, praising his team for curating a flawless cultural and entertainment experience.

The performances from Tooro’s own stars — DJs Ken and Hash, Aliddeki Brian, Zaya Rosette, and Big Doug — got the crowd warm. The House of Talent Cultural Performers turned up the heat with the traditional amakondere dance before His Majesty himself arrived to thunderous cheers.

Then the night flipped into party mode: Iryn Hindah and Atwookie Richie serenaded the crowd before Cindy Sanyu a.k.a The King Herself closed with an explosive one-hour set, including her latest hit See You Tonight. By the time DJ Tony hit the decks, Karuzika Palace had become the biggest dancefloor in Western Uganda.

With UTB, Pilsner, Plascon, MTN, Movit, Pepsi, NBS TV, UWA, MSC, and more on board, the Ekyooto Ha Mpango Festival cemented itself as a landmark celebration of culture and music — a royal way to usher King Oyo into the next chapter of his reign.
