Ugandan musician and presidential advisor Edrisa Musuuza, popularly known as Eddy Kenzo, is mourning Maama Maria Prean, the founder of Vision for Africa, following her death.
Kenzo paid an emotional tribute to Prean, describing her as a motherly figure whose kindness, guidance and charitable work had profoundly influenced his life and touched many others.
In a heartfelt message, the singer portrayed Prean as more than a mother, crediting her with making a lasting difference in the lives of people she encountered.
“My dear Mama Maria, you were more than a mother, an angel in human form that touched, changed and impacted many lives but mine the most,” Kenzo wrote.
He expressed gratitude for the lessons she taught him and the good deeds he witnessed her perform, saying the memories they shared would remain precious to him.
“I don’t know how to thank you or say how grateful I am for all the great things I saw you do, the ones you taught me,” he added.
Kenzo also credited Prean with helping him recognise Uganda’s blessings and appreciating the love she extended to people around her.
“Thank you for showing us how blessed we are as a country and thank you for loving us so much,” he said.
He concluded his tribute with an emotional farewell, writing: “REST IN HEAVEN My God sent Angel.”
Prean founded Vision for Africa, a charitable organisation based in Mukono District that has supported vulnerable children and communities through education, child care and other social welfare initiatives.
Through its work, the organisation has focused on improving the welfare and opportunities available to disadvantaged children and supporting communities in need.
Her death marks the loss of a figure associated with charitable work and efforts to improve the lives of vulnerable people in Uganda.
