Coca-Cola is taking its “Essawa Yonna Kisoboka” campaign to Uganda’s university campuses, using football, music, entertainment and creativity to connect young people with the excitement of the English Premier League.
The campaign has already brought its experiences closer to university communities, with the KIU Fresher’s Ball recently attracting more than 1,000 students from Kampala International University, Kyambogo University, Makerere University and Makerere University Business School.
Students at the event experienced a mix of football-themed activities and entertainment curated by Coca-Cola, with artist Kapeeke adding to the atmosphere through his performance.
Coca-Cola has also taken the campaign beyond university events, featuring curated brand experiences at events such as the Buganda Royal Mr & Mrs event, where young people engaged with the brand while celebrating entertainment and talent.
The focus on universities reflects the role campuses play in bringing together football, music, fashion, digital culture and social interaction.
Through “Essawa Yonna Kisoboka,” Coca-Cola is also giving students an opportunity to turn their passion for football into creative content.

Young content creators can participate in a competition centred on their football experiences, with monthly cash prizes of up to UGX 1 million available to winners.
The initiative has attracted students from different parts of Uganda, including Dherrick from Gulu University, who views the competition as an opportunity to combine his passion for the Premier League with content creation.
Jonath Mee from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) sees the platform as an avenue to express his love for football while developing his content creation abilities.
For Jade Billz from Makerere University, the competition demonstrates how young people can turn creativity and passion into meaningful opportunities through courage, consistency and hard work.
The campaign is expected to continue visiting different universities as Coca-Cola creates more opportunities for students to experience the Premier League through activities tailored to their interests and lifestyles.
For participating students, the initiative offers a combination of football experiences, entertainment, community interaction and a platform to showcase their creativity.
At the centre of the campaign is Coca-Cola’s message: “Essawa Yonna Kisoboka” — anything can happen before the final whistle.
