Celebrity chef Godwin Kasozi, popularly known as Chef Godwin, has responded to social media claims involving a woman who has been presenting herself as his wife and alleging that they have a child together.

Photos of the woman with Chef Godwin, including one featuring the two alongside a young girl, have recently circulated on Ugandan social media platforms, particularly X and TikTok.

The posts have sparked discussion among social media users, with some referring to the woman as an “allegedly self-made wife” while questioning the nature of her relationship with the chef.

Chef Godwin has since addressed the trending pictures in a video, where he clarified his position and denied the claims being circulated about their alleged marriage and child.

The chef, who has built a large following through his catering business and online content, rose to prominence partly through work associated with MP Francis Zaake and has gone on to cater for high-profile personalities and major events.

Despite the attention generated by the photos, the claims about a marriage and shared child remain primarily a social media matter. There has been no widely verified independent confirmation establishing that the woman is Chef Godwin’s wife or that the two have a child together.

Chef Godwin has generally kept details about his private family life away from the spotlight, with much of his public profile centred on his career, including his early beginnings in Mityana, catering work for prominent figures and appearances at major events.

His response comes as the photos continue to attract attention online, with the chef’s denial adding another dimension to the ongoing social media discussion.
