National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobi Wine has paid an emotional tribute to comedian Yokana Mbuuse, popularly known as Kapere Lufotose or “Daddy Trump,” following his death.
In a heartfelt message, Bobi Wine said Kapere was a friend to many whose presence touched lives, describing him as a beautiful soul who refused to be defined by his appearance but instead allowed his character, sincerity and heart to speak for him.
He praised the late comedian as a loving husband, gifted artist and patriot who understood the power of his voice and chose to use it for the good of his country.
“Kapere lived a life of purpose, serving his country in the best way he knew how. He was a patriot, a gentleman, and a man whose infectious humour could light up even the saddest of moments,” Bobi Wine wrote.
The opposition leader also expressed sympathy to Kapere’s wife, Lydia Nakandi, popularly known as Mama Trump, and their children, praying that God gives them strength and comfort during the difficult period.
Bobi Wine concluded by saying Kapere’s contribution would not be forgotten and that his spirit would live on through the many people he touched.
