Ugandan TikTok personality Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has died following complications after undergoing a bone marrow transplant.
News of Jayden’s death was announced on Tuesday morning by fellow TikToker Sheilah Price, before the news was confirmed by other close friends and associates.
Jayden had been battling serious health complications linked to sickle cell disease, prompting fellow content creators, friends and well-wishers to launch a fundraising campaign to support his treatment.
In July, it was reported that Jayden had successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant in India, where he had travelled to receive treatment, and was recovering from the procedure.
However, his health reportedly deteriorated in recent weeks, with reports indicating that he had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Media personality Kasuku was also among those who shared updates about Jayden’s condition as his health worsened.
Despite the efforts to support his treatment and recovery, Jayden has now passed away, leaving his family, friends, fellow content creators and fans mourning his death.
His journey had attracted widespread attention among Uganda’s online community, particularly after the fundraising drive organised to help him access specialised treatment.
