Affectionately known as ‘Herbie’, Uganda’s flexible full back Herbert Bockhorn 24 has signed a two year contract with the “Terriers” with an option of extending the contract for another year.
Born to a German dad, Hartwig Bockhorn and a Ugandan mum, Jean Marion Nansubuga, Herbert (24) has been playing for Borussia Dortmund II in Germany.
The right back who played against Liverpool for Dortmund last pre-season and had two years remaining on his contract, is Jan Siewert coached side’s other recruit after the arrival of Tommy Elphick (Aston Villa), Reece Brown (Forest Green) and Josh Koroma (Leyton Orient).
Town’s coach Siewert, worked with the player for two seasons at Borussia Dortmund II and knows his qualities well. He has also been the side’s captain an indicator of a good player.
In his three years at the club, Bockhorn made 71 appearances for Dortmund II in the German Regionalliga West – the fourth tier of German football.
Huddersfield Town was relegated from the English Premier league last season with only 3 wins and 7 draws in 38 games and finished on the bottom of the 20 team table.
