Up-and-coming singer Anknown is out here telling a story that many struggling artists know too well\u2014he paid for a song and Daddy Andre dissapeared like the Bachwezi.<\/em><\/p>\n

In an interview on The Deep Talk<\/em>, Anknown opened up about how he painfully saved Shs 1 million hoping to jump-start his music dream by working with the big-name hitmaker.<\/p>\n

\u201cI met him and we talked. He asked me for the full amount upfront. Normally we deposit 50%, but we gave him the money as requested,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Back then, Andre was said to be operating from Spice Diana\u2019s 32 Records studio. But as soon as the cash exchanged hands, the dream hit a brick wall.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe disappeared like the Bachwezi. When we called him again, the phone was off. I don\u2019t know if he blocked my number, but we kept trying. We even went back to 32 Records and they told us he doesn\u2019t work from there. That we messed up by not asking for a receipt,<\/em>\u201d Anknown added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It stings even more because it came from someone he looked up to.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI just loved Andre and thought he\u2019s an honest person. I still demand him my song till now,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

From inspiration to disappointment\u2014Anknown\u2019s story is a reminder that in this industry, even admiration can be expensive.<\/p>\n
