From the dusty streets of Namugongo ghettos to landing big brand deals and major gigs, the 21-year-old dancer and content creator Namata Maria Gorret Sharon<\/span><\/span> aka Sharon Pinks is one of the freshest faces to watch in Uganda\u2019s entertainment scene as she is steadily sealing in her name.<\/p>\n

Born on January 23, 2005, and raised in Namugongo (Kira Municipality), Sharon\u2019s journey is one of pure hustle, talent, and timing and to prove that she\u2019s not just dancing, she’s now a brand ambassador and influencer for names like; Joystar Fashion Store, Steve Skin Clinic, TR Investment, and Zebbie Hair Clinic.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Blizz Uganda, Sharon revealed that her journey started back in 2020 when her breakthrough came after being spotted by DJ Pacs during a community event, who brought her into a dance crew and gave her a platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up with the passion already because where I stayed, music was everywhere,<\/em>\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

From there, she sharpened her craft at De Flicks 256 dance company under Gifted Gift, focusing on her signature style, “mpeele” and she credits dancers like DVD Afroking, Abaddie Gyal, and Ewil Brenda Claire as her early inspirations, but she\u2019s now creating her own lane.<\/p>\n

Some of her biggest moments so far include performing at Nyege Nyege Festival, appearing during the massive Sheebah vs Cindy music battle, and featuring in Gravity Omutujju<\/span><\/span>\u2019s Paka Kuwulira Bubi<\/em> music video.<\/p>\n

Like many coming from the ghetto, the journey hasn\u2019t been easy but she\u2019s not stopping anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Sharon has already launched her own initiative, SP Dance Academy<\/strong>, with plans to open a full dance studio and collaborate with international stars like Endurance Grand.<\/p>\n
