Security forces have finally pulled out of Robert Kyagulanyi\u2019s residence in Magere, ending a two-month deployment by the joint operation involving UPDF soldiers and Police officers which started immediately after the January 15, 2026 presidential elections.<\/p>\n
At the time, authorities said the move was to \u201cprotect the property\u201d while Bobi Wine and his family were away, a claim that many Ugandans questioned and for weeks, access to the residence remained restricted, with roadblocks, patrols and constant surveillance around the area.<\/p>\n
But on Monday, March 23, the situation quietly changed slowly and on Tuesday, March 24, the security teams had fully vacated the premises, with videos and photos now showing normal activity returning to the area with no soldiers, no police, no barriers.<\/p>\n
Opposition supporters are already celebrating the withdrawal as a win, though many are doing it with sarcasm, pointing out that security had been \u201cguarding an empty house\u201d while Bobi Wine is currently abroad.<\/p>\n
On the other side, critics of government are calling the entire operation unnecessary, with some branding it a public relations misstep that raised more questions than answers.<\/p>\n
There are also murmurs within NUP circles, with some voices suspecting the property could have been tampered with or monitored during the prolonged deployment though no official confirmation has been given.<\/p>\n
