The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially released the 2025 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results, painting a mixed picture of growing candidature and improved top performance, here’s how to check.<\/p>\n
According to UNEB, a total of 817,883 candidates sat for the 2025 PLE from 15,388 centres, an increase from 797,444 candidates in 2024. Of these, 522,036 pupils from 11,525 centres were under Universal Primary Education (UPE), while 295,847 candidates from 3,863 centres came from private and non-UPE schools.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the release, UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo said the overall performance showed a slight improvement, especially at the top end. More candidates attained Grade One, meaning more learners are eligible to progress to secondary and vocational institutions compared to last year.<\/p>\n
Candidates and parents can access the 2025 PLE results through the following official methods:<\/p>\n
1. SMS (Fastest Method \u2013 All Networks) For UCE\/UACE: The SMS service costs approximately UGX 500\u2013600. During peak hours, delays may occur.<\/p>\n 2. Online Portal 3. Through Schools UNEB cautioned candidates to ensure index numbers are entered correctly to avoid errors. Some results may be withheld due to suspected malpractice, in which case schools are required to follow up with the board.
