The alleged acts are said to have taken place in Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso districts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1050\" data-end=\"1266\">When asked by the magistrate whether she understood the charge, Bireete calmly replied that she did. Asked whether it was true, she responded, \u201cNot true,\u201d prompting the court to officially enter a plea of not guilty.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1050\" data-end=\"1266\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5254\" src=\"https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1120\" height=\"1467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah.jpg 1120w, https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah-782x1024.jpg 782w, https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah-768x1006.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah-321x420.jpg 321w, https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah-640x838.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blizz.co.ug\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ASarah-681x892.jpg 681w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1120px) 100vw, 1120px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1505\">Chief State Attorney Joan Keko told court that the matter was coming up for plea but investigations were still ongoing, asking for more time. She said prosecution would update court on the status of investigations at the next appearance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1507\" data-end=\"1647\">Bireete\u2019s lawyer, Jude Byamukama, did not oppose the request for adjournment but informed court that the defence intended to apply for bail.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1936\">Magistrate Jatikko allowed the defence to file the bail application but declined to rule on it immediately, saying prosecution had a right to first respond. She ordered that the bail application be heard on January 21, 2026, and that Bireete remain on remand at Luzira Prison until then.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1938\" data-end=\"2328\">The charges come just days after the Electoral Commission issued a public warning to political actors, civil society organisations and members of the public, cautioning against publishing voters\u2019 photos or personal details on social media.
