<\/p>\nHellen Seku, the Commissioner at the National Secretariat for the Patriotism Corps under State House, has issued a fresh warning over how Ugandans are using the national flag, especially at political rallies and public places.<\/p>\n
Speaking over the weekend at Kololo Independence Grounds during a meeting between President Museveni and Kampala city garage operators and mechanics, Seku said she is concerned by what she called increasing \u201cflag desecration\u201d in the city.<\/p>\n
She pointed fingers at political campaign rallies, where supporters have been freely carrying, hoisting and displaying the national flag without following the law.<\/p>\n

According to Seku, many people don\u2019t know or choose to ignore that there are strict rules governing how the flag should be handled.<\/p>\n
She cited the Flag and Emblems Act, Cap 181, which clearly prohibits hoisting the national flag on private buildings without express permission from the government.<\/p>\n
