Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential flag bearer, lit up Kira Municipality on Monday as he launched his campaign tour, drawing huge crowds that lined the roads from Magere to Bweyogerere.<\/p>\n
Kyagulanyi stepped out with the Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi and a full NUP team, all pushing the party\u2019s mobilisation agenda as the country inches closer to the January 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n
The tour kicked off at Kyagulanyi\u2019s home in Magere, where supporters gathered in the morning before escorting him through several stopovers. By the time he entered Kira Municipality, the roads were already filled with cheering residents waving party colours and chanting his name.<\/p>\n
During the procession, Kyagulanyi rallied voters to remain steadfast, reminding them of the party\u2019s mission to transform Uganda\u2019s leadership. He also threw his weight behind George Musisi, the NUP candidate vying for the Kira Municipality parliamentary seat. Musisi is one of the party\u2019s strong contenders in the area, and Kyagulanyi urged residents to back him for \u201creal change to happen both at the top and in Parliament.\u201d<\/p>\n
From Kira, Kyagulanyi continued his mobilisation drive towards Bweyogerere and was expected to wind up the day in Kasangati. Party officials say the Kira tour is just the beginning, with multiple mobilisation drives lined up across the country as NUP intensifies its 2026 push.<\/p>\n
