Veteran events promoter Abbey Musinguzi, aka Abtex Promotions\u00a0has come out swinging at Eddy Kenzo, calling him the most selfish artist in Uganda right now. And listen, he revealed all the Huge losses they make because of him.<\/em><\/h6>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Speaking to reporters, Abtex accused the Big Talent boss of squeezing promoters dry with sky-high performance fees\u2014so high, apparently, that even when Kenzo pulls in massive crowds, the promoters still go home broke.<\/p>\n

\u201cEddy Kenzo is selfish. His costs are very high, and even when he brings people to shows, the promoter leaves with nothing because of his high demands,\u201d<\/em> Abtex fumed. \u201cPeople see a successful event due to the numbers who come to see him perform, but the promoter leaves in tears.\u201d<\/em><\/h6>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But that wasn\u2019t the end of it. Abtex also dragged Kenzo\u2019s manager, Martin Beta, claiming the pair are using their positions at the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) to sideline key players\u2014especially event promoters\u2014in decisions that affect the entire entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

The big bone of contention? Alleged exclusion from the Shs 33 billion government fund meant to support the creative sector. Abtex says promoters were left out of consultations, yet artists like Kenzo are front and center\u2014thanks, he says, to cosying up to State House<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While Kenzo hasn\u2019t responded yet, we\u2019re keeping our ears on the ground. But if this tension keeps growing, we might be headed for a serious showdown in Uganda\u2019s entertainment power circles.<\/p>\n
