Police rolled out a new traffic plan to control the crowds expected on <strong>June 3<\/strong>, but people living in Namugongo and surrounding areas aren\u2019t feeling the love. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, they\u2019re stranded, stressed, and totally over it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>All access routes leading to my home (behind the Namugongo Catholic Shrine) are blocked by SFC soldiers and Police. Where do you expect us to sleep?\u201d o<\/em>ne deeply irritated resident vented to the <em>Monitor<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to police, the restrictions are meant to \u201cstreamline movement\u201d and ensure safety. But for locals, it&#8217;s turned daily life into an extreme obstacle course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Traffic Chaos in Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kireka to Kyaliwajjala<\/strong>: One-way heading toward the venue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kyaliwajjala\u2013Naalya<\/strong>: One-way back toward Kyaliwajjala.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kyaliwajjala to the Catholic Shrine<\/strong>: Reserved strictly for pedestrians (keep right!). The left side? VVIPS and ambulances only.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>VIPs<\/strong>: Red sticker holders park at Namugongo Boarding Primary School (via Ssemambo Road).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Protestant VIPs<\/strong>: Use Butto\u2013Kyobe Road.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Foreign pilgrims<\/strong>: Drop off at Kyaliwajjala, then hike or park at Vienna College.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Medical crews<\/strong>: Only green sticker vehicles allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Service providers<\/strong>: Must arrive <strong>before midnight on June 3<\/strong>\u2014latecomers? Sorry, gates closed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Designated public parking<\/strong>: Hillside Nursery &amp; Primary, Kiira Town Council playground, and Kiira Mayor\u2019s garden.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>NO parking<\/strong> at the actual shrines. Unauthorized bodas and taxis? Impounded\u2014no discussions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TL;DR?<\/strong> If you don\u2019t have a sticker, a pass, or the patience of a saint, stay home or prepare to walk\u2026 a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Michael Kananura, the Community Liaison Officer from the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, isn\u2019t sugarcoating anything. <em>\u201cVehicles abandoned on restricted roads will be towed\u2014and yes, you\u2019ll pay for it,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019s asking motorists to stay calm, obey traffic police, and plan ahead.
