UGX 1.5 billion) to save his life.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"1124\">\n<p data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"1124\"><em data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"1078\">\u201cCedric \u2014 our father, brother, son, uncle, friend, and bright light \u2014 is currently in the ICU, courageously fighting for his life\u2026 His only chance of survival now lies in a heart transplant,\u201d<\/em> the family said in a heartfelt public appeal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1517\">Cedric Babu is no ordinary Ugandan. A familiar face on TV since the early 2000s, Cedric won hearts with his charisma, creativity, and passion for youth empowerment. He later transitioned into sports administration, serving as President of the Uganda Boxing Federation, and even took a shot at politics, contesting for MP in Kampala Central in 2021.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1519\" data-end=\"1696\">He is also the son of renowned politician Capt. Francis Babu, and has been a powerful voice in shaping Uganda\u2019s entertainment and youth development spaces for over 20 years.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1781\" data-end=\"1816\"><strong>The Campaign to Save Cedric<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1818\" data-end=\"2113\">The campaign to raise funds is already live via GoFundMe, with thousands being mobilized across social media.
