Former city socialite and faded moneybags Bryan White, real name Brian Kirumira, is back in the news as Kampala Metropolitan Police launches investigations into the suspicious death of 25-year-old Caroline Nalubwama, who reportedly died after a gas explosion at his home on Salaama Road.
According to police, the tragic incident happened on October 27, 2025, at the controversial businessman’s residence. Nalubwama was rushed to Kiruddu Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
It is also revealed that Bryan White was rushed to a private Hospital where he was also reportedly treated of burn wounds.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed the ongoing investigations, revealing that detectives have cordoned off the scene and collected exhibits for forensic analysis.
“The territorial police at Katwe are actively investigating the circumstances under which one Nalubwama Caroline, aged 25, allegedly sustained serious injuries resulting in her death,” Owoyesigyire said.
Police further noted that Bryan White, who also sustained injuries during the incident, has already recorded a statement and is receiving treatment as investigations continue.
The explosion severely burned Nalubwama and damaged property in the house. Her father, Tom Mutyaba, reported the case at Katwe Police Station under reference number DEF 73/2025, prompting a full crime scene investigation by detectives and fire experts.
Bryan White’s name isn’t new in controversy. The once self-proclaimed “money lord” rose to fame around 2017 for splashing cash and claiming to empower youth, but soon found himself in scandals involving young women, who accused him of sexual abuse and exploitation under the Bryan White Foundation.
Among his accusers was Vivian Mutanda, who famously described Bryan White as “a very evil man” who used his power to manipulate and exploit girls. Though he denied all accusations, the public image of the once-glamorous socialite crumbled.
Now, with the death of Caroline Nalubwama at his residence, Bryan White’s name has once again resurfaced in a storm of suspicion and tragedy, leaving many Ugandans wondering — how does he always slip through?
Police say investigations are still ongoing, and more details will be shared once the post-mortem report is released.
