UBC Star TV presenter Caro Cleopatra, real name Namusabi Caroline, is still struggling to get justice after reportedly being robbed at gunpoint by a serving police officer identified as ASP Atwiine Vincent.

According to official police and court documents seen by Blizz Uganda team, the shocking incident happened along Kinawataka Road in Nakawa Division early this year 2023, where ASP Atwiine and other suspects allegedly intercepted the TV star and took off with UGX 45 million in cash.

Reports indicate that the armed officer threatened Caro Cleopatra with a pistol before grabbing the money and fleeing.

The case was filed at Jinja Road Police Station under CRB 187/2023, leading to Atwiine’s arrest and eventual remand to Luzira Prison on charges of Aggravated Robbery under Section 285 and 286 of the Penal Code Act.

The documents also reveal that the officer, who was later reinstated and deployed as O.C Butaleja Police Station, had previously served as O.C Operations at Seeta Police Station.

Sources within the police have since raised concern over how a suspect in such a serious case managed to return to active duty before the matter was fully resolved in court.

The case, which is being handled by Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court, has been in and out of hearings throughout 2024, with court records showing sessions held in March and May for prosecution witness testimonies.

Caro Cleopatra, known for her bubbly energy on UBC Star TV’s Chamuka program and Radio Butebo’s Digida show with Abu Kyazze Omunene, has remained quiet on social media about the incident, but friends close to her say she’s been traumatized since the incident.
