Former NBS TV presenter Tuff B, real name Robert Sekidde, has officially announced that he will be contesting as an independent candidate in the 2026 general elections after missing out on the NUP party ticket.
A few months ago, Tuff B shocked fans when he resigned from his job at NBS TV’s KURT Show to join politics under the National Unity Platform, with hopes of representing Makindye East in Parliament.
However, things didn’t go as planned after the NUP vetting team reportedly denied him the party flag, a move that left the TV star disappointed.
Speaking in an interview with Sanyuka TV, Tuff B said the vetting process lacked transparency, adding that he has now chosen to stand independently to serve his people.
“I still love and respect my party and President Bobi Wine, but I have decided to run as an independent. I want to serve the people of Makindye East with all my heart,” he said.
