“These Two Young Girls are Good Friends So Please Stop Comparing them”- Zuena Kirema

Beats Sophie - Zuena Kirema - Shalom Namagembe

Social media has been lighting up lately with beautiful photos of Bebe Cool’s daughter, Beata Ssali, and Bobi Wine’s daughter, Shalom Namagembe—and of course, in true Ugandan fashion, some people couldn’t help but start comparing the two girls.

But one person who wasn’t having any of it is Zuena Kirema, Beata’s mother.

The proud mama of five jumped onto X (formerly Twitter) to shut down the comparisons with a firm message to Ugandans online. According to Zuena, these posts were meant to celebrate the girls—not create a competition.

“It’s so sad how foreigners see Ugandans as welcoming and good people, but we are tearing each other apart from within,” she wrote, clearly disappointed. “Anything that a Ugandan does is always criticized by fellow Ugandans. We just don’t want to see the other doing better.”

Her main point? Leave the kids out of the drama.

Zuena didn’t just stop at defending her daughter—she also revealed something that might surprise many: Beata and Shalom are actually good friends. So all this online noise? Completely unnecessary.

“Today I stand to stop this nonsense of comparing young children,” she added. “Stop creating unnecessary drama.”

She wrapped up her post with a heartfelt message that warmed hearts:
“To my lovely daughters Beata and Shalom, you are beautiful and truly loved. Heads high as you keep chasing your goals.”
