Tamale Mirundi Junior was left embarrassed to the core on after he was forcefully pushed out of President Yoweri Museveni’s area by Special Forces Command (SFC) officers during an NRM campaign event in Rubaga.
Wearing a yellow NRM T-shirt, Mirundi Jr attempted to force his way closer to the President, apparently hoping to speak to him directly. Witnesses say he appeared confident that he would be recognised, citing his late father, Tamale Mirundi, who served as a presidential adviser before his death.
However, events quickly took a different turn.
As Mirundi Jr tried to access the President’s box, SFC commandos moved in and physically restrained him, pushing him away from the restricted area. Videos and accounts from the scene indicate that one of the soldiers sternly warned him not to resist orders, using what onlookers described as “full military energy” to eject him.

Those present say Mirundi Jr attempted to explain himself and insisted he needed a moment with Museveni to “narrate his problems,” but the security team remained unmoved. He was chased away, visibly humiliated, as the campaign activities continued uninterrupted.
The incident shocked many supporters, especially given Mirundi Jr’s family history within State House circles. His father, the outspoken and controversial Tamale Mirundi, was once a close aide to President Museveni and a familiar face in political commentary.
