Sudhir Ruparelia Leads Emotional Funeral Procession for Son Rajiv as They Head for Burial

In an emotional display of grief and strength, Ugandan tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia led the funeral procession for his late son, Rajiv Ruparelia. Seated in the funeral car, alongside his wife Jyotsna, Sudhir was seen somberly in the vehicle carrying his son’s body to the cremation ceremony in Lugogo.

Sudhir, accompanied by his wife Jyotsna, was seen seated in the funeral car, solemnly following the vehicle carrying Rajiv’s body to the cremation ceremony in Lugogo.

Rajiv, the only son of Sudhir and Jyotsna, was a dynamic businessman and philanthropist. As Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group, he played a pivotal role in expanding the conglomerate’s influence across Uganda and beyond. Under his leadership, the group ventured into diverse sectors, including real estate, education, hospitality, and agriculture, significantly contributing to Uganda’s economic growth

Beyond his business acumen, Rajiv was deeply committed to philanthropy. Through the Ruparelia Foundation, he directed over UGX 35 billion (approximately USD 9.5 million) to various causes, including disaster relief, sports development, and wildlife conservation. His flagship initiative, the Talent Scholarship Programme, awarded over 3,000 scholarships to underprivileged students, empowering them to pursue higher education.

Rajiv’s untimely death has left a void in the hearts of many. As the funeral procession made its way through the streets, mourners gathered to pay their respects, reflecting on Rajiv’s contributions to Uganda’s development and the positive impact he had on countless lives.

The Ruparelia family’s grief is shared by the nation, as Uganda bids farewell to a visionary leader whose legacy will endure through his work and the lives he touched.
