Organizational psychologist and human capital champion, Shamim Ibrahim is set to headline the Annual Human Capital Conference 2025 at Hotel Africana, Kampala under the theme, “The Human in Human Capital: Defining the Missing Link in Building Africa’s Human Capital.”
With Africa holding the world’s youngest population and potential, Shamim is determined to shift the narrative from what the continent lacks to how it can leverage its greatest asset. It’s people.
“My vision for Africa’s human capital is one where our people are recognised and invested in as the continent’s greatest asset. If we place people and their creativity, innovation, and enterprise at the centre, every sector will thrive,” she says.
The conference will feature regional and national voices, including headline speaker Mr Andrew Charles Odete, and will tackle topics ranging from youth unemployment and the informal economy to mental health, inclusion, and regional cooperation. Participants can expect engaging panel discussions, practical insights, and networking opportunities that cut across policy, entrepreneurship, academia, and community leadership.
The highlight this year is the deliberate focus on the creative economy, digital innovation, and enterprise as integral to sustainable human capital development. Proceeds from the conference will support youth-led innovation projects through Shamim’s Psyche Solutions Social Enterprise Incubator.

The conference is open to entrepreneurs, policymakers, academics, innovators, community leaders, and members of the diaspora eager to contribute to Africa’s human capital story.

As the official Visibility Partner, Africa Women Lead Directory will extend the conversation beyond the event, ensuring that the voices, stories, and solutions shared at the conference continue to reach audiences across borders. Through its ecosystem — including social media spotlights, a global podcast, and curated articles — the Directory amplifies Africa’s leading voices in business, policy, and innovation.
“Africa’s future will be determined not by what we lack, but by how we value, invest in, and mobilise our people,” Shamim adds. “This conference is one step toward building that future together.”
