Socialite and former TV personality Sasha Ferguson has finally spoken out on rumors of going back to estranged husband, journalist Canary Mugume and why she can never hug a woman beater again.

The couple, who tied the knot in a flashy 2021 wedding that had the whole country talking, confirmed their separation late last year after months of online speculation.

Their split quickly turned ugly and very public.

Sasha took to social media at the time, accusing Canary of domestic violence and substance abuse, saying she endured “immense pain behind closed doors” before choosing to walk away and raise their children on her own.

Canary, who works with NBS Television, strongly denied the abuse allegations and claimed he has been present for his children, blaming limited access for his reduced involvement. The back-and-forth statements kept social media buzzing for weeks.

Now, during a recent Q&A session with her followers, Sasha directly addressed questions about reconciliation — and she didn’t sugarcoat anything.

“I think what is important is to pray for the grace to go past the big lie spread about me in order to assassinate my character and justify the wrong being done in broad daylight,” she said.

She went on to warn that someone who knowingly plays victim while hiding the truth is not safe to be with.

“Someone who can go an extra mile to play victim knowing the truth is a very dangerous person to be with.”

Sasha also firmly stood her ground on issues of abuse, drawing a hard line that she says she will never cross again.

“They don’t beat a pregnant woman and no woman should ever accept that. Pregnant or not,” she stated.

Despite the heavy subject, Sasha revealed that she is in a much better emotional space as she focuses on healing and motherhood.

She said she was thankful she didn’t enter the new year carrying emotional baggage, noting that peace and healing have been her priority.

On co-parenting and raising children with an absent partner, Sasha encouraged women to focus on independence and provision.

“Work for your children so that even if he ignores his responsibility it barely hurts,” she advised.
