Kampala police reportedly picked up events promoter Nobert Twizire aka Nobat events in connection with the August 30th beating of media personality and blogger Jenifer Nakanguubi alias Full Figure.
Nobat was nabbed last weekend at Kololo Independence Grounds during the boda boda riders’ celebration of President Museveni’s 81st birthday and whisked off to CPS Kampala.
The promoter himself even confirmed the arrest in an audio clip making rounds online.
Police mouthpiece Luke Owoyesigire later confirmed the detention, revealing that Nobat is being interrogated for allegedly working closely with Justine Nameere, who is pinned as the main suspect in the brutal attack.
“We think that he knows something about what transpired on that day when Full Figure was beaten. We have not opened any charges against him; we just brought him in to help us with the investigations,” Owoyesigire said.
For now, Nobat hasn’t been charged with anything, but police say he could be released on bond depending on how cooperative he is.
