Worship House lead pastor and gospel singer Wilson Bugembe has revealed that he sold his dream mansion in Kiwatule to help his church secure land for a parking lot.
Appearing on NTV’s The Beat, Bugembe shared that his church urgently needed Shs1 billion, so he sold his personal home for Shs700 million to contribute to the cause.
“That house was my dream home, built from my music,” he said. “But I painfully gave it up for the church.”
He added that the remaining Shs300 million was covered through a loan. Although the decision was emotionally heavy, Bugembe said fellow singer Gravity Omutujju offered unexpected comfort during a tough moment.
“Gravity told me, ‘The Kabaka or the President may never visit your house, but they can visit your church. You did this for God, so don’t regret it,’” Bugembe recalled.
The pastor used the story to remind people that many pastors make silent, painful sacrifices to serve their congregations — and not everything is as flashy as it seems.
