Uganda’s music industry is mourning the heartbreaking death of singer Olisha M, real name Olivia Mildred Namubiru, who passed away during childbirth on October 24, 2025. She left behind two beautiful sons and a loving husband.
The “Katambala” hitmaker was one of the most promising female voices on the Ugandan music scene, known for songs like “Super Love,” “Ntono,” “Gwenjagala,” and her sweet collabo with David Lutalo “Yegwe.”
According to reports, Olisha developed complications while in labour. Some sources claim she was being rushed to Mengo Hospital, while others say she was admitted to Nsambya Hospital before things took a tragic turn.
Conflicting reports also emerged about the baby’s fate, with some saying both mother and child didn’t make it, while others claim she left behind a baby boy.

The singer’s death has left fans, family, and fellow artistes in deep shock. Vigils have been held at her home in Mutundwe, where mourners gathered to celebrate her life and comfort her grieving family.
Olisha had publicly introduced her fiancé in 2024 in a glamorous traditional ceremony, and many had expected wedding bells soon after.
Friends describe her as a humble, talented and loving mother. She leaves behind two sons, a family, and a music career that was only just taking off.
