The National Unity Platform (NUP) has made significant inroads in the Buganda region after securing 41 parliamentary seats, even as the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) emerged with 55 seats, cementing its dominance in the region.

The results underline Buganda’s continued role as a major political battleground, with NUP maintaining strong support in urban centers, municipalities, and several rural constituencies, while NRM retained control of key areas.
