The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) has officially kicked off its school-based registration exercise targeting children who don’t yet have National Identification Numbers (NINs), in a massive campaign that will cover all regions of Uganda.
This latest move is being rolled out in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Sports to strengthen the national identification system—especially among school-going children.
Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to pre-register online at http://rb.gy/a75sjq. But for those who prefer analog vibes, printed registration forms will be available directly at schools and all NIRA offices.
To complete the process, you’ll need to attach a copy of the parent or guardian’s National ID or NIN.
NIRA says this exercise will help streamline future access to services like education bursaries, PLE and UCE registration, passport applications, and healthcare, among others.
If your child doesn’t have a NIN yet, this is the time.
