MOTIV Kampala was the place to be on Friday as the Amplify Uganda Music Expo (AUMEX) went down in full swing, pulling hundreds of music lovers, artists, producers, and creatives for a full-day experience themed “Building a Scalable Future for Ugandan Music.”
The energy was electric as the event powered by Guinness Smooth and Talent Africa Group turned into a serious meeting point for Uganda’s biggest music brains and young creatives ready to take over the game.
From the jump, UGATUNES CEO Shadrack Kisame kicked things off with a demo that showed how the local music distribution platform is giving artists more control and cash from their own music. The crowd was glued!
Things got even better with the session “Stop Waiting to Be Discovered!” where top industry experts dropped real talk on artist development, career building, and surviving the hustle of the music business.
Another highlight was the Ssese Nation DJ Workshop, which gave upcoming DJs hands-on training and new skills.
Later in the day, a big panel discussion on music royalties and metadata opened many eyes about how artists can finally earn what’s truly theirs.
But it was the night showcase that brought Kampala to life. The AUMEX Showcase turned into a mini festival of performances from Uganda’s fresh talents setting the perfect vibe for the night’s main act, South Africa’s very own Nasty C.
The superstar hit the stage at exactly 11 PM for his Ivyson Tour performance, sending the crowd into full meltdown with bangers like “Strings and Bling,” “Soft,” and “SMA.” Fans screamed every lyric, and after his performance, Nasty C even took time to vibe and interact with them.
Guinness Smooth’s Denise Nazzinda said the brand is all about giving young creators a platform through their “Make It Yours” campaign. “We believe in the power of creativity to transform lives. Through this initiative, we’re giving emerging talent the stage and confidence to reimagine what’s possible,” she shared.
Talent Africa Group CEO Aly Alibhai also revealed why his team decided to join forces with AUMEX this year. “I attended the first edition and was blown away by the vision and energy of the young creatives. We saw it as the perfect platform to train and showcase Uganda’s fresh talent and help them reach global audiences,” he said.
The Ivyson Kampala Tour was proudly sponsored by Talent Africa Group, Guinness Smooth, Toorly, NRG Radio, Mighty Rides, Fairway Hotel, SafeBoda, Africa Billboard, and Hype.
