Kadongo Kamu singerMathias Walukaga has spoken out after being officially endorsed by the National Unity Platform (NUP) as the party flag bearer for Busiro East MP, affirming that he’s going to work and not speak English in Parliament.
Speaking out to the press, Walukaga who was endorsed, shocked many after he beat Hon. Medard Segona, who will now run as an independent.
But the “Bakoowu” hitmaker isn’t bothered at all. In his response, Walukaga made it clear that he’s not going to Parliament to show off English but to deliver real services to the people who sent him there.
“I’m going to Parliament to serve my people, not to speak English,” he said. “From my first salary, I’ll build wells across the whole constituency. I want to bring services closer to my people, not compete in speaking English every day.”
His unexpected victory over Segona during the NUP vetting process has raised eyebrows, but the singer insists he’s ready to prove doubters wrong once he hits Parliament.
